Frequently asked

When you donate land, we handle the transfer and convert the property into funding. Those proceeds support programs for children in need: housing and shelter, meals, education, and family support. Your unused property becomes real help for a child.

Proceeds fund our children's programs and the costs of accepting and transferring donated land. We publish where funds go and encourage every donor to review our annual report and Form 990. (Add your real financial-transparency details here before launch.)

We consider raw and vacant land, residential lots, agricultural parcels, and some commercial property across the U.S. Every property goes through a free review first, and we'll let you know promptly whether we can accept yours.

No. We cover the costs of the deed transfer and title work. You're responsible only for obtaining your own appraisal if you intend to claim a tax deduction.

Possibly. If you itemize, donating real property to a 501(c)(3) may qualify for a charitable deduction based on fair market value. Gifts over $5,000 require a qualified appraisal you obtain, reported on IRS Form 8283. We provide a written acknowledgment but don't set the value or give tax advice. Please consult your own tax advisor. For most of our donors, the tax benefit is a bonus, not the reason they give.

For non-cash charitable gifts of real property valued over $5,000, the IRS generally requires a qualified appraisal prepared by a qualified appraiser. The appraisal establishes fair market value for your deduction. We do not perform or set appraisals — you obtain your own independent qualified appraisal and report it on Form 8283 with your tax return. Consult your tax advisor for guidance specific to your situation.

Yes. You can text our dedicated donation line to start a conversation with our land team. Standard message and data rates may apply.

It takes about a minute, costs you nothing, and gives a child something they desperately need.
